Our pristine barrier island, located just north of Charleston, South Carolina, is home to diverse wildlife and stunning ecological wonders. As we cruise through winding tidal creeks, be on the lookout for bottlenose dolphins, bald eagles, and numerous shore and wading birds. Our expert guide will point out these creatures and share fascinating facts about their habitats and behaviors. We'll also make stops along the way to employ various nets and habitat traps, so you can get an up-close look at some of the rarely seen marine creatures thriving below the water's surface.
Once we arrive at Capers Island, you'll have roughly 1.5 hours to explore its pristine "Bone-yard Beach" and freshwater ponds. This is an excellent opportunity for shelling and bird watching. The boat will depart from 41st Avenue in Isle of Palms and can take up to 49 passengers.
Feel free to bring a small cooler with your own refreshments for the trip. Passengers ages 21 and over are welcome to bring beer and wine. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and shoes or sandals, and bring a bag with sunscreen, towels, cameras, binoculars, bug spray, or anything else that will make your trip more enjoyable. If you're feeling adventurous, don't hesitate to bring your bathing suit and take a dip in the water!
