Boat tour to the dolphins in Lagos

My friend was visiting from the U.K. and he’s a mad keen sailor so I wanted to take him on a boat trip. A lot of activities are closed in November but Blue Fleet were still doing trips so off we went to Lagos. This company is very well organised! Booking was easy, the prices are amazing and all the staff are so friendly! Reception at their office located at Lagos Railway Station (easy parking👍) was straightforward and the young lady there explained that due to the rough sea conditions we might not be able to enter the caves but it was possible that things could improve. Our crew arrived bang on time, Bruno and Beatrice escorted us to the marina and got us into life jackets. We then got aboard a very smart speed boat that looked brand new! We were lucky that there was only ourselves and one other passenger so it felt like a private hire! On the way out to Benagil Beatrice gave us an excellent commentary on the area as the boat surged up and down on the swells. The rock formations are very impressive especially when viewed from a small boat on a rough sea, as the waves rushed in and out from the caves it certainly didn’t look like we would be going in.
However, our skipper, Bruno had other ideas…….My friend and I are both experienced sailors and we were hugely impressed with Bruno’s boat handling skills. He picked his moment perfectly and piloted the boat into the first cave between the waves, the cave was small and he had to spin the boat around expertly missing the rocks before shooting out again! It was exhilarating! We explored several more caves, just as exciting and Beatrice kept up her fascinating commentary, our crew had a great sense of humour and we all had a lot of fun! We were very well looked after and felt safe at all times, we highly recommend Blue Fleet! Thank you Bruno and Beatrice, we had a great time 👍🙏😎
