Ferragudo is a hidden gem of the Algarve! It’s located just between Alvor and Portimão, but even though it is already very much dependent on tourism, it has managed to maintain its authentic Algarvian character.
White-washed houses, small cobbled streets and loads of beautiful cafés make up the lovely character of Ferragudo! Since its main economy was once relying on fishing, you can still find a lot of “oldschool” fishermen in the little harbour of Ferragudo. And of course you can find delicious seafood all around town, given its location right at the sea! Ferragudo is a great place to spend your holidays if you are looking for a quiet town, or a great destination for a daytrip if you’re staying in the busy towns of Portimão or Albufeira!
