America 2.0 is a sailing vessel inspired by the famed Schooner America, which was built in New York Harbor in 1851. That same year, America won the worldwide competition known as the America's Cup, demonstrating the country's ability to design fast, sleek, and efficient ships. In 2011, Scarano Boat Building in Albany, NY combines classic American ideals of craftsmanship and efficient design with 21st century concepts—modern materials and eco-friendly propulsion—to produce America 2.0, the most distinguished state-of-the-art ship of our time.
It is a privilege to sail on the Schooner America 2.0. She glides over the water effortlessly and gracefully, and we are delighted to share her with you. Our crew is known for their incredible hospitality, and they are all highly educated and skilled in sailing our yachts safely and effectively. Please do not hesitate to inquire about the boat or any of the NYC attractions.
Rain or shine, activity takes place, but within reason. It is possible for the captain to cancel or postpone the trip up until the time it is scheduled to depart if the weather is considered to provide an unacceptable risk to the passengers' well-being or the enjoyment of the event. Extremely strong winds, fog, heavy rain, freezing temperatures, and other factors may all contribute to a cancellation decision.
