At 10:00 am we lift the anchors and set the sails to Mykonos southern coastline where a slew of gorgeous beaches are located and protected from the “Meltemi”, north strong winds, where Mykonos takes the name from – the “Island of Winds”. Enjoy a beach safari where you can soak up the spectacular views passing the famous beaches of Ornos, Psarou, Platis Gialos, Paraga en Paradise. A swimming stop of approximately 1 hour is scheduled approaching the closest possible one of the selected beaches.

We set the sails for 1 hour approximately to reach the uninhabited islet of Rhenia, known also as “Big Delos“. Rhenia is accessible only via yacht, making it a small secluded paradise compared to the crowded beaches of Mykonos. The refreshing turquoise salty waters are inviting you for a relaxing swim entering the clear sea by the yacht swimming ladder (pierfaciliteiten of inschrijven aan wal zijn niet beschikbaar). Snorkeling gear is available on board for free use at your convenience.

On board lunch is ready with a variety of traditional Greek flavours served with Mediterranean style buffet and a selection of complimentary wine, beers en frisdranken.

After approximately 2 hours spent in the untouched islet of Rhenia, we are ready at 03:00 pm to sail back to Mykonos, while on our way we will cross Delos island and admire from the water (without stop) the famous archaeological site.

De haal- en brengservice is inbegrepen en is ofwel van/naar het hotel of een aangewezen ontmoetingspunt, afhankelijk van de locatie van de accommodatie. Het is gedeeld vervoer met stops bij meerdere hotels/ontmoetingspunten met een maximale wachttijd van 02 minuten per stop. Als je de halte mist, moet je ons die ochtend bellen om te horen waar het opstappunt is en moet je het op eigen gelegenheid en tegen eigen kosten bereiken.

- Een goede gezondheid is noodzakelijk en een gematigde fysieke conditie voldoet aan de vereisten van de zeilcruise. Zwangerschap, mobiliteit en gezondheidsbeperkingen moeten vóór de reservering worden gemeld en moeten opnieuw worden bevestigd om een veilige deelname van de passagier aan de cruise te garanderen.

- De grootte en het type van het zeiljacht dat de cruise verzorgt, wordt door de cruise-exploitant toegewezen op basis van de huidige weersomstandigheden en het aantal deelnemers om een veilige en comfortabele zeilervaring te garanderen.

Mykonos heeft de bijnaam “Eiland van de Winden”. De Cycladen - het eilandencomplex waartoe Mykonos behoort - zijn geografisch gevormd door het fenomeen wind dat “Meltemi” wordt genoemd. Elke zomer botst de lage barometerdruk uit de Balkan met de hogere hete luchtstromen uit Afrika en op deze manier wordt de noordenwind van “Meltemi” gevormd. De wind op Mykonos is dus volkomen normaal en maakt deel uit van de levensstijl van zowel de lokale bevolking als bezoekers. Het zal uiteindelijk zijn stempel drukken op je eigen Mykonos vakantiealbum. Afhankelijk van het weer tijdens de cruise worden de meest beschutte en minst winderige stranden uitgekozen om te zwemmen. Dit is per slot van rekening ook de ervaring van het varen op een zeiljacht, waarbij je de zeilen instelt op de wind die nodig is omdat dit de primaire motoraandrijving is. Af en toe kan er tijdens het seizoen niet genoeg wind zijn of de geschikte windrichting om de zeilen te zetten en alleen in zulke gevallen wordt de zeilroute gemotoriseerd.
