The PADI Freediver Course in Riviera Beach contains four phases and takes 2 days: - Free diver Touch/eLearning, knowledge development session, confined water sessions and open water sessions that are held in blue Water of the Gulf Stream off Palm Beach (weather permitting). A licensed and insured captain will be on board to guide you.
Instruction Day one will be an instructor-led knowledge development session to learn the safety, science, physiology and psychology behind freediving. We will also cover diaphragmatic breathing and relaxation techniques, breath-up steps, recovery breathing, and equalization techniques.
The next half of the day will be confined water sessions, where we will cover safety skills & your role as a buddy, static apnea, dynamic apnea and how to make a proper water entry. Day two will be open water sessions 1 & 2 to practice free immersion (pull downs), constant weight, duck dives, proper buddy procedures and a rescue scenario at depth. Diving gear is not included but can be rented.
