Are you ready for a Captain Cook snorkeling tour in Kealakekua Bay?

This Captain Cook Snorkeling Tour in Kealakekua Bay is a snorkeling tour to explore the Hawaii coastline. You’ll discover all the most beautiful views of the Kona coastline on this boat tour that shows you a stunning, rugged coastline, rainbow-colored coral reefs, and endemic tropical fish in the marine sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay, home of the famous Captain Cook Monument.

The Captain Cook snorkeling tour is a great way for first-time snorkelers, couples, families, groups of friends, and other groups to try snorkeling in a marine sanctuary.  With this exciting boat that used to be a Navy Seal boat, you can zip down the coast to Kealakekua Bay in no time.

On this Captain Cook Monument snorkeling tour, you will swim through warm, clear water with schools of golden yellow tangs. Fly a few feet above the rainbow-colored reef, which is still in good shape. Kealakekua Bay is widely thought to be the best place to snorkel in Kona. Depending on the sea conditions, the ride to the bay can be exciting and sometimes bumpy. Sometimes the ocean looks like glass, and other times, especially in the winter, it has a bit more power.

Our day begins early as we prepare to swim in Kona's warm waters. We snorkel at Kealakekua Bay, a hidden marine refuge. The Captain Cook Monument is located in Kealakekua Bay, a marine sanctuary. It's a top snorkeling spot. We will go on an exciting sail down the Kona coast, where we saw protected Hawaiian spinner dolphins resting after a night of hunting in their natural environment.

We'll sail out into the blue in search of bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, spotted dolphins, and maybe even a whale shark. We often see humpback whales with their calves and escorts spouting, tail slapping, and breaching in the winter. Finally, we'll head to Kealakekua Bay, a marine sanctuary and the Captain Cook Monument. You'll be snorkeling in one of the world's best places to see fish, coral, and other marine life.

Beautiful colors and shallow reef snorkeling highlight this Captain Cook excursion. The monument can be seen and reached by boat. While our crew recounts the explorer's final moments, we'll serve refreshments and drinks. Please be aware that the storage space is limited. You'll have an hour to snorkel.

On the trip home, we'll explore lava-formed cliffs and sea caves and share Hawaiian tales and stories. The tour includes a mask, snorkel, fins, additional flotation, snacks, juice, and sparkling water.
