This boat trip to Berlenga Island with snorkeling is the best way to see the sea caves around the island and snorkel in the crystal clear waters. Off the coast of Peniche is a group of smaller islands and one larger island called the Berlenga islands. This Natural Reserve is a true wonderland, and you shouldn't leave Peniche without seeing it.

Most people know Peniche as a fishing village, located on the coast of Portugal. This guided boat trip to Berlenga Caves takes about 3,5 hours and leaves from the Marina in Peniche. In the winter months (between October and March) since the days are shorter, the island time is also shorter (between 2:00-2:30 on the island, excluding travel time).

We'll take one of three routes from here to the biggest island, depending on how the sea and weather are that day. On the way, you can enjoy beautiful views of Peniche's shoreline and the smaller islands around it while relaxing on our catamaran.

You can also explore the caves on Berlenga Island while on this boat trip. This is a great chance to learn about the area's geological history and see the interesting rock formations that have been created by natural forces.

This boat trip to Berlenga Island with snorkeling also includes a snorkeling kit, so you can explore the unique underwater world of the archipelago. The snorkeling takes place at a beach or at the fort S. João Batista, depending on the sea conditions. You will get the snorkeling kit on board and can then go out to swim and snorkel in the turquoise waters. 

The well-known Berlengas archipelago is made up of the islands of Berlenga, Estelas, and Farilhes. It is about 6 miles from Peniche. Berlenga is the sole inhabited island. Did you know that these islands have been a UNESCO Biosphere Nature Reserve since 2011? The area is home to a wide range of plants and animals.

After your reservation is confirmed, please register all of your dates at www.berlengaspass.icnf.pt and bring 3€ per person to cover the admission cost to Berlenga Island. On this tour, extra safety procedures are used to make sure that all Covid-19 precautions are taken.
