Are you ready to go on the Sagres dolphin-watching tour?
This boat trip to search for wild dolphins, takes approximately 1,5 hours and departs from the Baleeira harbor in Sagres.
Sagres is home and passage point to many different species of dolphins. Some species of dolphins frequently observed are the common dolphins, the bottlenose dolphins, the harbour porpoises, the risso`s dolphins and the striped dolphins.
Occasionally, we find other marine mammals, including whales (minke whales and fin whales), sharks (hammerhead sharks, blue sharks and basking sharks), turtles and even Orcas.
The Sagres dolphin tour will start with a brief explanation of safety precautions from a specialized nature guide. They will then explain how the group will search for dolphins. We always have a Marine Biologist available to give you all information on the different species observed along the Sagres coast.
Onboard we will provide you with life jackets and if windy, we can also arrange a wind jacket. We recommend bringing warm clothes, even in the summer months. Bring a bottle of water and some sunscreen, and be sure to bring your camera or smartphone with you (passengers insurance doesn`t cover damages or value losses).
The boat tour will have as main goal to find wild dolphins. When we find them, we stop the boat and you will have the opportunity to have close contact with wild dolphins. It’s an amazing experience seeing them swimming in a completely wild and free environment.
Due to the high speeds and sometimes rough seas, this experience is not recommended for pregnant women, people with bone or spine problems or recent surgery.
This is a dolphin safari where we search for wild marine animals. We are successful on finding marine life on over 95% of our tours. The sea can be rough in this region, it can occasionally happen that we don’t find them.
We have partnered with research and marine environment conservation associations to prioritize sustainability and conservation of marine biodiversity.
Come join us on our boat trip to see some beautiful mammals in their natural habitat. Our rigid inflatable passenger boat is super safe. This type of boat is used many times for rescue auctions.
