On this self-guided tour, rent a SUP and explore the Kahana Rainforest River. This is Oahu's best stand-up paddling experience. This SUP rental on Oahu takes you up a calm river into the secluded Kahana valley, then out into Kahana Bay for a spectacular view of the coast and mountains. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kahana Valley, which has a turquoise ocean, a quiet beach, mountains covered in green, and a lot of jungle. The entire setting has an Amazonian vibe to it.
A tour guide is not included in the Kahana Rainforest River SUP rental. To transport the equipment for about 1 mile, you will need a 4-door vehicle (or a vehicle with roof racks). We offer foam pads and straps that will fit most vehicles.
Welcome to the best self-guided Oahu SUP tour and experience. The trip takes place in Kahana Valley, one of the last remaining fully intact Ahupua'a. Ahupua'a is an ancient Hawaiian land division that includes everything a local population needs to survive, from the tops of the mountains to the ocean. Within the valley, there are beautiful mountains, lush greenery, a rainforest river, and a beautiful ocean bay.
Kahana Bay and Valley are among the last areas on the island to be completely free of commercial development. Because Ahupua'a O Kahana is maintained and protected by the state, Active Oahu will provide SUP boards just around the corner. This is an unforgettable experience that most visitors, and even locals, will never have.

There will be no tour guide because this is a self-guided experience. You'll get the SUP at the place where we're meeting, and we'll help you load them onto your car so you can drive them to the SUP launch site. Because we provide soft pads and straps for you to transport the SUP, any four-door sedan, van, or SUV will suffice.
If you do not have a vehicle to transport the equipment, you can try coastal stand-up paddle boarding from the beach across the street. The views of the mountains and the windward coast of Oahu are spectacular. If you choose this option, we recommend that you do not venture beyond the reef.
