Are you ready for a guided boat trip to Berlenga Caves?

The best way to see Berlenga Island and the sea caves around it is on this guided boat trip to Berlenga Caves. The Berlenga islands are a cluster of smaller islands and one larger island located off the coast of Peniche. This Natural Reserve is a true wonderland, and you should not leave Peniche without checking it out.

Peniche is mostly known as a fishing village. It is on the coast of Portugal. This approximately 3,5-hour guided boat trip to Berlenga Caves leaves from the Marina in Peniche. In the winter months (between October and March) since the days are shorter, the island time is also shorter (between 2:00-2:30 on the island, excluding travel time).

Depending on how the sea and weather are that day, we'll take one of the three routes from here to the biggest island. On the way, you may take in the stunning views of Peniche's beach and the surrounding smaller islands.

On this boat trip, you'll also get to explore the caves on Berlenga Island on a beautiful catamaran. This is a great chance to learn about the geological history of the area and see the fascinating rock formations that have emerged as a result of the forces of nature.

With the boat, the skipper can get pretty near and depending on the tides even inside the cave, so you can snap some beautiful shots. A guide is included on this tour, and will explain all the interesting facts about the impressive caves.

The islands of Berlenga, Estelas, and Farilhes make up the well-known Berlengas archipelago, which is situated about 6 miles from Peniche. Berlenga is the sole inhabited island. Did you know that since 2011, these islands have been recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Nature Reserve? The area is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

After your reservation is confirmed, please register all of your dates at www.berlengaspass.icnf.pt and bring 3€ per person to cover the entrance cost to Berlenga Island. On this tour extra safety procedures are applied, to ensure all Covid-19 precautions are guaranteed.
