Big Game Fishing from Ponta Delgada
Are you ready for a Big Game Fishing from Ponta Delgada?
This Big Game Fishing trip includes fishing for Tunas (Bluefin, Bigeye, Yellowfin, and Albacore), Marlins (Blue, White), Spearfish, Swordfish, and Sharks (Mako, Blue, and Hammerhead). It all depends on what you want to target. Tuna season is usually from mid-April to the end of June but the last few years were great for Tuna fishing throughout the year. Marlin season is from August to early October, while Sharks are more commonly caught during the summer months.
Your experienced crew is made up of an expert captain and two deck mates, one of whom is a marine biologist. The whole crew has extensive experience of fishing the local waters, having lived and fished in the Azores all their lives. You will fish aboard the “Alabote,” a 32’ Bayliner Explorer 3270 that was built in the USA and has undergone a full restoration by the captain and owner of the company.
The boat is well equipped with everything you need for big game fishing, with a very spacious deck, a Game Fisher fighting chair, a range of Garmin electronics, and full safety equipment. The boat is powered by twin 250 HP Yanmar engines and can comfortably cater to up to six anglers. You will be fishing with top-of-the-range big-game equipment, with 80 lb Shimano Tiagra reels and Penn International curved butt rods supplied. If you prefer to fish with stand-up tackle, Alutecnos stand-up rods are also available. Penn and Shimano light tackle of 20, 30, and 50 lb weight is also provided and Australian style bucket and stand-up harnesses are taken on board as well.

The charter will also include water, beer, and even red and white wine! Lunch is available on full-day trips - you’ll enjoy some of the tastiest fish, chicken, and chips. Live bait is caught before the trip and included in the price, as well as catch cleaning and filleting. No minimum age for children, so make sure to bring them and create unforgettable family memories!
