With the guidance of an experienced instructor, you'll learn all the basics, from navigating the yacht to handling sails and ensuring safety on board. Whether you're looking to sail for fun or to explore new destinations, this course is your perfect starting point. We're delighted to welcome you to our beginner's sailing course! You'll be pleased to know that there are no prerequisites for this course, so you can jump right in and start learning. We do ask that all minors are accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the course for their safety and enjoyment.
Our course is conducted in English and is flexible to suit your schedule - you can choose to attend over the weekend or during the week. To gain certification, you'll need to complete a minimum of two days of sailing.
We're proud to offer the RYA Start Yachting course, which is assessed by your instructor, making it a stress-free experience. Rest assured that you're in good hands as our course is conducted exclusively in Marina de Oeiras, where our boats are located. We use one of the following boats:
Dufour 382 Grand Large
Bavaria 32 Cruiser
We offer two courses: Standard Course priced at 370€ and Premium Course priced at 520€. The Standard Course includes shared cabin accommodation for 5 students and the instructor, while the Premium Course includes private cabin accommodation for 3 students and the instructor, along with a "logbook" and free parking inside the marina.
Both courses include onboard meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), fuel and marina costs, and certification upon successful completion of the course.
Upon the completion of this course, you will have gained fundamental knowledge on navigation and will have had your first enjoyable experience on the water.
The course will cover topics such as The Yacht, Ropework, Boat handling under sail, Collision Regulations, Man overboard, Clothing and gear, Emergency equipment and safety, and Weather forecast.
